ShotThink Privacy Policy

ShotThink is a Chrome extension that lets you capture and annotate webpage content and, when you choose, send it to a ChatGPT conversation in your own account. This policy explains what the extension handles and where that information goes.

Information ShotThink handles

• Images you choose to send, including a selected region or a long-page capture, with any annotations you add.
• Text you select and explicitly send using the context-menu command.
• Analysis instructions you enter or save in the extension.
• On this device, task and history details such as status, time, task name, and the resulting ChatGPT conversation link, plus preferences such as language and annotation settings.

When you start a capture, the extension reads the active tab's URL, title, and viewport measurements locally to prepare the capture. It does not separately send the source page URL or title to the developer or to ChatGPT. Page content visible in an image, or included in text you choose, is part of the content you chose to send.

How information is used and stored

ShotThink uses the selected image or text and your instructions to provide its capture-to-ChatGPT feature. Settings and task metadata are stored in Chrome's local extension storage; screenshot image bytes are stored in IndexedDB in your browser profile. This data is kept on your device until you clear the relevant history or remove the extension. ShotThink does not use Chrome Sync for this storage.

You can clear individual task records or the history from the ShotThink options page. Clearing a ShotThink record does not delete a conversation already created in ChatGPT; manage that conversation separately in ChatGPT.

When information is shared

Only when you choose to send, ShotThink passes the selected image or text and your analysis instructions through the ChatGPT website (chatgpt.com) using your signed-in ChatGPT session. OpenAI processes that content under its own terms and privacy policy and the settings for your account. Review OpenAI's Privacy Policy and ChatGPT data controls for details. Content in an image or selected text may include sensitive information, so send only what you intend to share with OpenAI.

The extension does not send your content to a ShotThink-operated server. The developer does not receive it. ShotThink does not sell user data or use it for advertising or analytics.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

ShotThink handles information received from Chrome only as needed to provide its single purpose. Its use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
